Our National Center for Community Schools (NCCS) is a technical assistance organization that builds the capacity of schools, school districts, and community partners to organize around student success.
Children’s Aid provides training, consultation, on-site coaching, and planning tools through our National Center to assist educators, community leaders, policymakers, and funders in an ongoing collaboration that puts educational institutions at the center of community life.
Community investment in children
Since 1994, NCCS has assisted in the establishment of nearly all national and international community school initiatives, involving more than 15,000 schools in total. Educators from 73 countries have come to New York to learn from Children’s Aid and to see the schools in action.
Throughout the United States and in countries from England to South Africa and the Czech Republic, Children’s Aid’s implementation assistance has helped families and educators ensure that everyone in a community is invested in children reaching their potential.
NCCS also leads local and national advocacy to encourage policies that support the community school movement and to include this approach in the broader educational agenda.
