Children and youth must be in the classroom to succeed academically. We provide comprehensive medical services in school- and community-based health centers throughout NYC’s under-resourced communities.
By constantly monitoring the health of children at the most important developmental stages of their lives, and by providing this care and support in a comfortable environment that is convenient for parents, we help ensure that nothing stands in the way of children’s growth and potential.
Comprehensive and continuous
For many kids, Children's Aid’s school-based health centers are their first and only access to high-quality medical care. We treat illness but focus on prevention, an approach that keeps kids healthier and results in better school attendance and fewer missed work days for their parents.
We offer coordinated services throughout the lives of children. Pediatricians and a team of trained health professionals provide the quality health care that children deserve and that their parents expect in a world-class city.
Children’s Aid school-based clinics are provided at no cost to kids and their families.
Our community clinics are open to the public. We accept Medicaid, Child Health Plus, and most commercial insurance for health care services provided at our community and school-based health centers. We assist uninsured families in applying for public health insurance and provide services on a sliding fee scale at our community health centers. No child is ever turned away, regardless of insurance or immigration status.
With locations in the South Bronx and Harlem, Children’s Aid’s community health centers provide a wide range of services to children and adolescents, including:
- Comprehensive medical services
- Early autism screening
- Family planning
- Health education
- Dental services
- Behavioral health services
We also provide these services for the children and families in our medical, therapeutic, and family foster care services.
Our community health centers are nationally recognized/certified and put an emphasis on coordinating all aspects of care and related communication for the patient to deliver care that is “what patients want it to be.” This leads to higher quality care, lower costs, and an improved experience for patients and providers.
