New York – The Children’s Aid Society is pleased to announce that Mark M. Edmiston was elected Chairman of the Board at the Board’s annual meeting on September 30th.
Edmiston, a publishing and finance executive, has been a Trustee of The Children’s Aid Society since 1981, and heads the Governance and Nominating Committee of the Board. He succeeds Angela Diaz, M.D., M.P.H., whose term as chairman ended on September 30th and who has stepped down from the Board.
The new chairman is a business leader with a record of success in publishing and finance. Currently he is President and CEO of Nomad Editions LLC, a new media start-up that develops original content for mobile devices. His career began at Time Inc., where, among other positions, he was Circulation and Marketing Director of LIFE Asia, based in Tokyo. Later, he was President and CEO of Newsweek Inc. and Executive Vice President of Times Mirror Corporation. More recently, he was a co-founder and partner in The Jordan, Edmiston Group, Inc., a boutique investment bank specializing in print media and a partner in Admedia Partners Inc., an investment bank specializing in media and advertising/marketing.
