New York – The Children’s Aid Society proudly announces the addition of three new members to its governing Board of Trustees, Janine E Luke of the investment advisory firm, Shepherd Management Corp.; Dr. Olivier Brandicourt, President and General Manager of Pfizer’s Primary Care Business Unit; and Charles Penner, Partner and Chief Legal Officer of Jana Partners.
“Each of these individuals brings new and invaluable insights and perspectives to the Children’s Aid Society’s Board, and I look forward to working with them during this pivotal time in Children’s Aid history,” said Richard Buery, President of The Children’s Aid Society.
“We are excited to welcome Janine, Olivier and Charles to the Board of Trustees,” said Mark Edmiston, Chairman. “Their diverse backgrounds will be a welcome addition to the Board and will enhance our ability to provide stewardship to The Children’s Aid Society.”
Janine E. Luke brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from the business and finance sectors. She is sole owner of Shepherd Management Corporation, Director Emeritus at Independence Community Bank Corporation and trustee of Janine E. Luke and Melvin R. Seiden Fund.
Dr. Olivier Brandicourt heads the pharmaceutical industry’s leading primary care business and his experience as both a business leader and as a medical professional offers new perspectives to Children’s Aid, which provides wrap around services that include school based health centers that provide medical, dental, mental health and preventive services to children and families in poverty.
Charles Penner offers his extensive experience working in the investment industry, law and communications. Penner is currently a Partner and Chief Legal Officer at hedge fund JANA Partners LLC and has previously worked as a corporate attorney in New York, in business development at GE and in communications on Capitol Hill.
