New York – The Children’s Aid Society (CAS) is proud to announce that Anthony Ramos has been appointed to the new position of Director of Marketing and Communications effective on February 22, 2011.
In this role, Ramos will supervise functions related to the management of the public profile and image of CAS in all media. “As a leading voice for under-resourced children and families in New York City, it is more important than ever that we are effectively communicating our message,” said Richard R. Buery, Jr., President and CEO of The Children’s Aid Society. “Anthony is going to help focus our efforts to convey the impact of our work, and advance the needs of those we serve.”
Ramos comes to CAS from the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) where he served as the Director of Communications. In this role, Ramos was responsible for managing branding, marketing, communications, and public relations for the leading national education organization focused on ensuring safe schools for all students. Most recently, he was responsible for developing and launching Think B4 You Speak, a multimedia PSA campaign in partnership with the Ad Council. He spearheaded GLSEN’s efforts to promote the Nation Day of Silence, and produced the annual Respect Awards events. Prior to joining GLSEN, Ramos was the Director of Communications at the Lesbian and Gay Community Services Center and the Manager of Communications and Marketing at the National Hemophilia Foundation.
