New York - The New York Urban League, in partnership with Riverbank State Park, The Children’s Aid Society, and the New York Urban League’s Young Professionals, is hosting its twenty-second annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities Fair. This year the Fair will be held on Saturday, November 15th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, at the Riverbank State Park located at 145th Street and Riverside Drive in Manhattan.

For the twenty-second consecutive year, the New York Urban League is convening this Fair, which attracts over 2,500 high school students and their parents from every borough in the City, as well as some of the surrounding locales. “It was wonderful to see over 130 high school seniors walk away from our fair last year with acceptance letters in hand from these historic institutions. We expect to increase the numbers of young people who will prepare to enter college as well as issue more scholarships during this year’s fair and beyond,” said Adrian Lewis, one of the key coordinators of the event.

Over 40 Historically Black Colleges and Universities as well as college support services will be participating in this annual event. Come to the Fair to find out about the school of your child’s choice! Parents as well as students are encouraged to attend workshops about financial aid; the difference between the A.C.T. and the S.A.T.; testing with the S.A.T. and what to expect with campus life! Learn about upcoming college tours! In some cases, school recruiters will be present who will waive application fees, or provide on-site admissions. Bring your S.A.T. scores, as well as official high school transcripts in order to take advantage of this opportunity.
